CONFERENCE
The Blue Bay Lodge offers a unique conference venue in the heart of the West Coast of South Africa. This peaceful establishment, with up-to-date equipment, will suit everyone's needs. Fully equipped self-catering cottages and/or 'deluxe' hotel rooms with en-suite accommodate delegates who require overnight facilities. For your convenience you may choose between bed and breakfast facilities to buffets and a la carte menus. There are three conference rooms available.

WEDDINGS

The natural and serene setting of The Farmhouse with its sweeping views over the lagoon, make it a classic wedding venue. With an indoor capacity of up to 50 people, your wedding reception can be intimate or well attended. The bride and groom can take their vows in a selection of nearby churches or be married by a minister, barefoot on the beach or lagoons’ edge! Your guests are welcome to spill outdoors onto the garden and if you would like a gazebo you are welcome to book one, although we do suggest holding your reception in our function room due to unpredictable coastal weather.
Our function room is a warm and inviting space, with a capacity for 50 guests and is furnished with oregan dining room tables and chairs, a fireplace and beautiful views of the lagoon. The room opens up onto the terrace and is separated by French doors from the main dining room, which is used to enlarge the function room for sizable receptions for up to 80 people. You are welcome to organise your own DJ or band and there is space to dance in the reception room. Our popular farm style restaurant will cater for your special occasion and we offer various menu options that promise to delight your guests.

| The conference room at The Farmhouse Hotel offers businessmen and women excellent facilities to conduct meetings with. These include a television, flipcharts, whiteboard, an overhead projector and a screen. The seating can be arranged in a “U” shape or in a classroom style and can accommodate between 15 and 18 delegates, a data projector is available on request and the Farmhouse Hotel will gladly provide packed lunches for delegates. |

The function room at The Farmhouse Hotel is available as a wedding venue, conference facility, birthday venue, work and any other type of function you may need it for. The Farmhouse Hotel has hosted many functions such as 21st birthdays, private cocktail parties, 40th and 50th birthdays and wedding receptions. The function room is atmospheric, with sea views and doors that open up onto the patio. The main function room can accommodate around 50 people and if a larger capacity is required, the venue can be opened up further to include the main dining room, allowing 80 guests or delegates altogether.
The Farmhouse Restaurant will create a menu for your occasion and our bar will provide refreshments, wine, cocktails and any beverages you require.

Weddings on the beach
All of our beach weddings, without exception, have been very successful, whether there be two guests or two hundred! The ambiance, charm and location all make for a stunning day.
Lunch weddings are best when the weather is not so hot and where the guests would want to return to Cape Town. Evening weddings are great for the sun setting behind the happy couple and where the guests will relax and enjoy themselves AND stay over in the area. We have a selection of charming bed and breakfast accommodation, and a honeymoon suite to recommend.

Christine will personally set your tables for you, hire in crockery, transform the venue into a fairy-tale destination, provide beautiful floral creations and a bar if required. We have sourceds the West Coast for the best baker of cakes. Thus we can bake anything from the most elaborate and complex wedding cakes to birthday cakes to theme cakes such as Spiderman, Barbie or even Square pants Sponge Bob.
Our Lead time is 14 days for wedding cakes and 5 days for theme cakes. But we have fresh cakes daily so in an emergency we can assist you with something.
We also cater for Kiddies Parties and supply each kid with a Party Pack.
Wedding favors are made to order and any other wedding or function related requests we are willing to help with.

I always wanted to be able to express myself visually. I started with flashing and streaking but that got me arrested. After that words did the trick for me in the beginning as images became sentences and poems and haikus and other described images and it still works for me, but I soon realized you can’t buy a lot of bread and wine with it. Words are also limited in the fact that the reader read there own experience and emotion into it, somewhere my personal visual emotions would get mixed with the reader or listener’s to a certain degree. Although the same happens with photography as each person feels a variant of emotion with a certain picture it happens to a lesser degree. And if I can get that to happen with every picture, in the end the photo will speak to you from the emotion of the subject and not my own or your emotions.
So that is why after doing various things from being a traveling salesman to a being a chef I decided to make my living by taking pictures. That and of course the fact that I can’t paint.
